Lanzarote is often described as a perfect year-round destination, with only 5.5 inches of rainfall per year and average temperatures between 21°C in January and 29°C in August. The island is home to the best volcanic attractions in the Canaries, including the largest volcanic tunnel in the world, the "Tunnel of Atlantis" is 1500 meters in length and is believed to be 20,000 years old.

Lanzarote is located 79 miles off the west coast of Africa and is the fourth largest island in the Canaries. In recent years it has become known as one of the best tourist destinations in Europe, many have bought one of their own Lanzarote Villas or Lanzarote Apartments. This is a short introduction to Lanzarote's tourist resorts.

Puerto Del Carmen - Puerto del Carmen is the largest, busiest and most well known of the islands tourist spots and this is reflected by the vast range of services available with all kinds of stores, shopping centres, restaurants and bars, recreational centres, pubs and discos. Puerto del Carmen is also home to over 5km of Lanzarotes best beaches with fine white sand and a rage of sporting activities to choose from including, windsurfing, marine excursions, deep sea fishing and scuba diving. The resort is also host to the Lanzarote Ironman event.

Costa Teguise - Costa Teguise is 10 minutes from the airport and was once the top tourist resort on the island. The resort is smaller than Puerto del Carmen but still offers much to do. Water sports are available and there are windsurfing schools for the more adventurous. Costa Teguise is home to the islands only golf course, and cycling is also a popular pass time. Costa Teguise is also home to the qualifiers for the PWA Windsurfing World Championship in June.

Playa Blanca - Playa Blanca is the third largest tourist resort, it is growing quickly and has some of the islands more modern developments offering many shops, restaurants and bars with beaches of fine white sand. Visitors can also catch a ferry to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura. Within a few minutes of Playa Blanca are some of the best tourist sites on the island including Timanfaya National Park, La Geria, Janubio salt flats and El Golfo (the green lagoon).

Puerto Calero - Puerto Calero is the quietest resort on the whole of Lanzarote and is more popular with private apartments. The harbour is often host to the yachts of millionaires and the area is great for those who wish to relax and enjoy some of the fantastic views that the Puerto Calero has to offer. There is also a main walkway with a few shops and restaurants, and the resort is also home to a whale and dolphin museum. One of the resorts most popular attractions is the Yellow Submarine which takes tourists under the sea to see the range of ocean life around the island.
